The nights are getting lighter and Edinburgh event organisers have already started releasing a hot list of dates for your 2022 Spring diary. Take a look at our collection of what’s on and things to do in Edinburgh from February to May.

Please note, all dates were correct at time of publication, but we recommend you visit the event organiser’s website for the most up-to-date information.

Edinburgh Dungeon Lates – 18th Feb to 16th Dec

The Edinburgh Dungeon re-introduces their popular late-night show, reputed for being scarier and darker than their regularly scheduled tours. The adults-only underground experience is even offering visitors a cocktail and a shot (included in their ticket price), to help calm the nerves after a night of shocks and scares.

Michael Pendry’s Les Colombes, St. Giles’ Cathedral – 6th Mar to 2nd Apr

Following the success of experimental exhibits, Edinburgh’s most iconic church welcomes German artist Michael Pendry for his first installation of the beautiful Les Colombes (The Doves). The new art piece presents a twisting column of more than 2,500 origami paper doves, which will fly the full length of St. Giles’ Cathedral. Beltane Fire Festival – 30th April

The Beltane celebrations draw inspiration from ancient Gaelic traditions to recognise the start of the summer season. The annual event, held atop Edinburgh’s Calton Hill, is a sight not to be missed, with participants forming a procession around the path to the ‘Acropolis’ National Monument to the heavy sound of drums, painted in a striking mix of red and white body paints.
The fiery display has become one of the most well-loved outdoor events in the locals’ annual calendar and, to date, the 2022 festivities are still due to go ahead.
